History:
- 2010: The United Nations declared it to be the World Students Day in honor of the contribution made by Kalam to education and his association with students.
- Kalam was the 11th President of India (2002-2007) and went on serving till his final gasp of air in 2015.
- Awards: Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan.
