Union Fisheries Minister to Represent India at Global Blue Food Security Summit in Israel

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh will undertake an official visit to Israel from January 13–15, 2026 , to participate in the Second Global Summit on Blue Food Security: Sea the Future , scheduled to be held in Eilat . The visit underlines the expanding India–Israel partnership in fisheries, aquaculture, and the wider blue economy.

Engagement at the Blue Food Security Summit

The visit is being made at the invitation of Avi Dichter , Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security. The Sea the Future Summit serves as a global platform bringing together policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, and innovators to deliberate on sustainable fisheries management, aquaculture advancements, and global food security challenges.

India’s participation reflects its increasing emphasis on sustainable blue food systems , climate-resilient aquatic resources, and innovation-led growth in fisheries and aquaculture.


Bilateral Talks and Policy Collaboration

During the visit, the Union Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his Israeli counterpart and ministers from other participating countries. Discussions will focus on:

  • Advancing joint research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives

The Minister’s programme includes interactions with CEOs of leading Israeli companies and start-ups working in agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture. He will also visit prominent innovation hubs and research institutions , gaining insights into Israel’s expertise in water-efficient aquaculture systems, precision fisheries management, and technology-driven food production.

These engagements aim to facilitate technology transfer, innovation linkages, and skill development , supporting India’s domestic fisheries modernisation efforts.
