Six Border Villages in Kathua Added to Vibrant Village Programme-II

Overview

Six villages in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir are covered by the Vibrant Village Programme-II of the Central Government. These are villages along the International Border and are strategically located in terms of national security and rural development. The project will enhance infrastructure, reinforce the services provided to the people, and the quality of life in the border regions.

Villages Under the Scheme.

The chosen villages include Bobiya, Kadyala, Gajnal, Karol Krishna, Rathua, and Gujjar Chak. These areas are historically underdeveloped and have low connectivity because of their closeness to the border. Their inclusion will lead to the improvement of roads, healthcare, education, electricity, and water supply.

Administrative Review and Implementation.

This decision was reached in a review meeting that was chaired by Kathua Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma. The authorities have been directed to make sure that development projects are implemented on time by having good inter-departmental coordination. Progress will be monitored using regular monitoring mechanisms to ensure results on the ground.

Target Last-Mile Delivery.

One of the priorities of the programme is to make sure that every eligible resident enjoys the fruits of government schemes. Departments have been instructed to carry out field surveys, determine service gaps, and make sure that welfare programs like housing, social security, and livelihood support are fully covered. Implementation is also being enhanced by encouraging community participation.

Strategic Significance of the Programme.

The Vibrant Village Programme is not only developed but also aimed at enhancing border security. Better infrastructure will decrease the migration of people along the borders and will help maintain stable populations, which is essential to national security. It also facilitates inclusive development by integrating the remote areas into mainstream developmental system.
