IISF 2025: Advancing Scientific Innovation and Public Engagement in Panchkula
The 11th India International Science Festival (IISF) began on 6 December 2025 in Panchkula, Haryana , continuing through 9 December . Since its inception in 2015, IISF has evolved into one of India’s foremost platforms for nurturing scientific curiosity, enhancing public participation in science, and bringing together researchers, students, policymakers and innovators on a shared national stage.
Theme and Vision: Science for Self-Reliant Growth
The 2025 edition is anchored in the theme “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: for Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” highlighting science as the engine of India’s economic and developmental transformation. The festival emphasises innovation-led growth and the blending of traditional knowledge with contemporary scientific methods to strengthen India’s indigenous knowledge systems.
Programme Structure and Key Focus Areas
IISF 2025 is built around five thematic pillars:

Across 150+ technical sessions , participants will explore futuristic sectors such as AI and AGI , quantum technology , gene editing , climate science , space systems , and the bio-economy .
Participation and Institutional Partnerships
More than 40,000 participants are expected to join, including scientists, startups, educators, investors and women innovators. The Ministry of Earth Sciences leads the event, coordinated by IITM Pune , with support from DST, DBT, CSIR, the Department of Space and DAE . Vijnana Bharati serves as the outreach partner, expanding community engagement and science outreach.
