RCB Women Script Historic Chase to Win Second WPL Title in Vadodara

RCB Women dominate WPL 2026 summit clash

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced one of the finest batting performances in Women’s Premier League history to defeat Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final at Vadodara. Chasing a stiff target of 204, RCB completed the highest successful run chase ever achieved in a WPL final, sealing their second championship with two balls remaining.

Delhi Capitals set a record target

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted an imposing 203 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs — the highest total recorded in a WPL final. Captain Jemimah Rodrigues anchored the innings with a well-paced 57, laced with elegant strokeplay. Laura Wolvaardt added momentum with a brisk 44, while Chinelle Henry provided a late flourish, hammering 35 off just 15 balls as Delhi surged strongly in the final overs.

Smriti Mandhana steers a historic chase

In response, RCB were led from the front by captain Smriti Mandhana , who produced a breathtaking 87 off 41 deliveries. Mixing timing with power, she dismantled the Delhi bowling attack with 12 fours and three sixes. Her innings not only laid the foundation for the chase but also saw her finish the tournament as the leading run-scorer.

Match-defining partnership turns the final

Mandhana was ably supported by Georgia Voll , with the duo stitching together a decisive 165-run partnership in just 92 balls. Voll contributed a fluent 79 off 54 balls, striking 14 boundaries. Even after quick wickets late in the innings, RCB remained firmly in control, never allowing the required rate to spiral.
