China In 2019, China declared fentanyl a controlled narcotic and then added some synthetic chemicals used to synthesize fentanyl to the list.

Panama and BRI Initiative

Panama President declared that it has withdrawn its participation in China Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

China has introduced the BRI in 2013.

It has been one of the fundamental tools through which Beijing has been able to expand its global economic relevance by funding infrastructure works in different nations.

Panama had also taken part in the effort in 2017 under then-President Juan Carlos Varela

The US constructed Panama Canal in the first half of the 20 th century and it became the property of Panama in 1999.

US quits UN Rights Council

 

The President of United States intends to withdraw US participation in the UN Human Rights Council and a funding ban on the UN agency serving the Palestinian refugees, UNRWA.

Following the announcement, US indicated that Israel will join it in its decision not to take part in the UNHRC.

Trump has already pulled the US out of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the 2015 Paris climate agreement.

Prior the Trump administration pulled out of the Human Rights Council in 2018.

Sleeping Sickness - Guinea

Guinea has triumphed in eradicating the human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) (also referred to as the sleeping sickness) as a public health problem.

Guinea has recorded the first neglected tropical disease eliminated in the country when it successfully eliminated the only form of human African trypanosomiasis.

HAT is parasitic, and its spread occurs as a result of being bit by infected tsetse flies.

This achievement of Guinea falls into a wider range, as other seven nations achieved the same goal, namely, Togo, Benin, Cote d Ivoire, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, and Chad.

Donkey Route

The first mass deportation under President Trump took place when a US military plane arrived in the Amritsar carrying more than 100 Indian migrants.

The majority of them tried to take the risky alternative, the donkey route.

It is a criminal route of migration, where such movement is managed by mafias, across several borders and is highly hazardous.

Donkey route is another term that refers to the hazardous path that the migrants embark on when they travel to the US or Europe seeking employment opportunities and improved livelihood.

It is called in honour of a Punjabi witticism characterizing a painful, unscheduled voyage.

Sarand  Stream in Argentina

The stream has already turned its colour several times gray, green, violet, blue, and brown, it appears upon occasion a sort of oily surface.

M23 Rebels in DR Congo Lives

 

Rebels known as M23, which were being supported by the Rwandan troops had taken control of the city of Goma, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Regional center of Goma with a population of more than 2 million people is located on the border of DRC and Rwanda.

The fighting is the legacy of a long history of multistate wars played out in Congo following the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

It was also at this incident that up to 1 million people, mostly of the Tutsi ethnicity were slaughtered by Hutu extremists.

The genocide was ended by Tutsis rebels headed by current Rwandan President Paul Kagame and several culprits escaped to the neighboring countries in Congo.

The rebel force is called the Congolese Tutsi commanders and was established in 2012; it is an offspring of previous Tutsi-led rebellions.

Paris AI Summit 2025

 

AI Action Summit took place the third time in Paris.

And Prime Minister of France and India were the Co-chair the Paris Summit.

The Summit had five key themes and they were public service AI, future of work, innovation and culture, trust in AI, and global governance of AI.

It is the third global round of table discussions reflecting on AI governance with two prior editions taking place in the UK in 2023.

The Second India-France Al Policy Roundtable was to be organized too as a side activity to the Summit.
