PM Modi to Launch ₹9,700-Crore Tribal Development Projects on Janjatiya Gaurav Divas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a comprehensive package of tribal development projects worth ₹9,700 crore during his visit to Gujarat on Janjatiya Gaurav Divas , marking a major initiative to uplift infrastructure, education and connectivity in tribal-dominated regions. The event holds special significance as it coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda , a revered tribal freedom icon.

Honouring Birsa Munda and Empowering Tribal Communities

The Prime Minister will participate in celebrations at Dediapada and inaugurate a range of welfare projects designed to strengthen essential services in remote tribal settlements. The initiatives aim to accelerate inclusive development in line with the government’s focus on tribal welfare and cultural preservation.

Housing and Community Welfare Initiatives

A major highlight of the programme is the Grih Pravesh for one lakh houses built under PM-JANMAN and DA-JAGUA schemes. These initiatives target improved housing security, community-driven growth and better access to basic amenities across tribal villages. The event underscores the government’s emphasis on ensuring dignified living conditions for tribal families.

Additional projects include 228 Multipurpose Community Centres , a Centre of Competence at Assam Medical College , and a Tribal Research Institute in Imphal , reinforcing cultural research and skill development.

Connectivity and Economic Strengthening

To boost mobility and regional economic activity, the PM will flag off 250 buses for 14 tribal districts and lay the foundation for 748 km of new roads .
