PM Modi to Inaugurate India’s First Digital Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum

 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first fully digital Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh , on the state’s 25th foundation day . Named the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum , the project is built at a cost of ₹50 crore over 10 acres and will serve as a global centre showcasing tribal heritage, valor, and contributions to India’s freedom struggle. Alongside the inauguration, the Prime Minister will launch infrastructure projects worth ₹14,260 crore across multiple sectors.

A Landmark Digital Museum

  • The museum features 16 thematic galleries that highlight the tribal uprisings against British rule . Through digital storytelling, folk art, and interactive technology, it celebrates unsung heroes like Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh , Bhagwan Birsa Munda , and Gend Singh . The Prime Minister will also unveil the “Aadi Shourya” e-book and museum portal , expanding access to India’s tribal history.

Immersive Technology and Cultural Experience

  • This is India’s first fully digital tribal museum , integrating virtual reality, AI exhibits, and 3D projections . Visitors can experience traditional tribal attire through AI-based interactive cameras and explore digital replicas of sacred trees such as Sal, Mahua, and Saja , each narrating stories of 14 historic revolts. The museum is designed to be accessible and youth-oriented, combining technology with cultural preservation.

Showcasing Tribal Resistance

  • The museum chronicles key uprisings including the Halba Rebellion (1774–1779) , considered India’s first tribal revolt, along with the Surguja (1792) , Bhopalpatnam (1795) , Paralkot (1824–1825) , Tarapur (1842–1854) , Meria (1842–1863) , Lingagiri (1856–1860) , and Sonakhan (1857) rebellions. These revolts highlight the tribals’ enduring struggle to defend land, culture, and autonomy against colonial exploitation.

PM’s Development Agenda for Chhattisgarh

  • During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth ₹14,260 crore , including highways, industrial corridors, healthcare facilities, and energy projects. He will also unveil a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly , launch 12 Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks , and release ₹1,200 crore under PM Awas Yojana for 3 lakh beneficiaries.
