National Conference on Women Workplace Safety to Focus on SHe-Box

Government Reinforces POSH Compliance Through SHe-Box Initiative

The Ministry of Women and Child Development will convene a National Conference on Safety of Women at Workplace (SHe-Box) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi , on February 14, 2026. The event aims to strengthen enforcement of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) and reaffirm the government’s commitment to safe, respectful and harassment-free workplaces.

The conference will be attended by Union Minister Annpurna Devi , Minister of State Savitri Thakur , senior officials from Central Ministries, States and Union Territories, representatives of Internal and Local Committees, international organisations, industry leaders and civil society stakeholders.


SHe-Box: Digital Complaint and Compliance Platform

Launched on August 29, 2024 , the SHe-Box portal functions as a secure, multilingual, single-window digital grievance redressal system. It enables women to file complaints online with confidentiality safeguards.

Complaints are automatically routed to the relevant Internal Committee (IC) or Local Committee (LC) . The portal also supports real-time tracking , enhancing transparency and institutional accountability.

Additionally, SHe-Box serves as a compliance repository where organisations can upload committee details, annual reports and awareness initiatives, reinforcing regulatory oversight under the POSH Act.


Conference Deliberations and Capacity Building

The programme includes plenary sessions, a National Roundtable on POSH compliance , and sectoral discussions, particularly addressing challenges in the unorganised sector . An International Roundtable featuring UN agencies will examine global best practices.

Key launches include the SHe-Box logo , nationwide POSH training video, IEC materials and expanded POSH learning modules on the Karmayogi Bharat platform .
