Artemis II to Send Astronauts Around the Moon for First Time Since 1972

The NASA has announced that the Artemis II mission is progressing toward a launch window beginning 1 April 2026 . The flight will mark the first time in more than five decades that astronauts travel beyond low-Earth orbit toward the Moon. Designed as a test mission, Artemis II will validate spacecraft systems and crew procedures before future lunar landing missions.

Mission Objective and Flight Plan
