 
                                           
 
  
	 -     The 31st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) will be held from   November 6 to 13, 2025  . The festival, themed   “Where Cinema Connects The World,”   aims to transform Kolkata into a global hub for filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts.

	      Inauguration:   A grand opening ceremony will be held at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium.

	      Opening Film:   The festival will begin with a special screening of the Bengali classic   “Saptapadi” (1961)  .

	      Focus Country:   This year's focus is on   Poland  , which will present 19 films showcasing the diversity of its cinema.

	      Centenary Tribute:   A major highlight is the centenary tribute to legendary Indian filmmaker   Ritwik Ghatak  .

	      Other Tributes:   The festival will also honour international icons   Richard Burton   and   Robert Redford  , alongside Indian filmmakers Raja Mitra, Shashi Anand, and Arun Roy.

	      Special Section:   The   "Unheard India"   section will feature eight rare language films from across the country.

	      Competitions & Participation:   KIFF 2025 will feature several competitive categories, including International Competition and Indian Panorama, with participation from over   39 countries  .
