Indian Railways to Honour 100 Personnel with Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar–2025

Indian Railways will confer the 70th Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar–2025 on 100 officers and employees , recognising exemplary service and exceptional contributions to the organisation. The awards celebrate individuals and teams whose work has strengthened railway operations, safety standards, innovation, and public service delivery across the country.

Award Ceremony and Key Dignitaries

The awards will be presented on January 9 at the Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre) in New Delhi. Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw will preside over the ceremony.

The event will also be attended by Ministers of State V. Somanna and Ravneet Singh , along with Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar , Members of the Railway Board, and General Managers from various Railway Zones and Production Units.

Diversity of Achievements Recognised

The 100 awardees represent a broad spectrum of professional excellence.

  • 17 officers and staff are being recognised for innovation and process reforms that improved productivity, optimised resources, and reduced costs.

  • 22 railway personnel will receive honours for acts of exceptional bravery and selfless service, undertaken at serious personal risk to safeguard passengers, colleagues, and railway assets.

Operational Excellence and Infrastructure Growth

  • 14 awardees are being honoured for contributions to revenue enhancement and vigilance, including efforts to curb ticketless travel, theft, and operational malpractices.

  • 19 employees are recognised for excellence in operations, safety management, asset upkeep, and protection of railway infrastructure.

  • 16 officers and staff will receive awards for completing major railway projects within record timelines, significantly contributing to network expansion and capacity enhancement.

The awardees include personnel who ensured safe railway operations during large-scale events such as the Mahakumbh , maintained services during Operation Sindoor , and deployed advanced Ballast Cleaning Machines in difficult terrain—enhancing
