India has its First official Formula 1 Sim racing Championship.

India has also initiated its first professional Formula 1 sim racing championship, which is a major move towards the incorporation of esports into professional motorsport. Formula 1 has partnered with Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited to introduce the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026.

This program provides a formal national platform to virtual racers and a new avenue in the competitive world of motorsports.

First India Specific F1 Sim Racing Programme.

It is the first Formula 1 to introduce a specific sim racing programme in India. The rights to organise and run the competition are in the hands of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited under the agreement.

The final will be a multi-stage competition:

National online qualifiers open to the participants.
City-level competitions
Final grand finale in Mumbai.

It will be held on the official Formula 1 video game platform so that the games can be played in a realistic and standardised racing environment.

Bridging Esports and Real Racing

The essence of this championship is to establish a great connection between virtual racing and real-world motorsport. Sim racing enables participants to train:

Racecraft and driving skills.
Strategic decision-making
Rapid response and swiftness.
Racing dynamics technical knowledge.
