India concluded the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026 at the top of the medal table, amassing an impressive 94 medals , including 51 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze . The tournament, hosted at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi , saw the Indian contingent deliver a commanding performance, particularly on the final day.
India secured six gold, three silver, and four bronze medals on the concluding day, reinforcing its dominance in continental shooting competitions.
Podium Sweep in 25m Pistol
Indian shooters achieved a clean sweep in the 25m Centre Fire Pistol event. Amanpreet Singh captured gold, followed by Gurpreet Singh with silver, while Ankur Goel secured bronze. The trio also clinched team gold , showcasing India’s depth in pistol events.
In the 25m Pistol Junior category, Suraj Sharma won gold, with Mukesh Nelavalli taking silver and Abhinav Deshwal earning bronze. India again secured team gold , underlining its strength in junior divisions.
Success in 50m Rifle Prone
In the 50m Rifle Prone Women’s event, Sift Kaur Samra claimed silver, while veteran shooter Tejaswani Sawant secured bronze, marking a notable return to the podium. Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Bezrukova won gold. India’s shooters combined to win team gold .
The junior rifle prone competition also yielded medals, with Indian shooters securing podium finishes and another team gold .
Team Events Consolidate Lead
