The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has launched a premium logistics service called “24 Speed Post” . This initiative aims to provide faster and more reliable delivery solutions, addressing the rising demand for time-bound shipments from both businesses and individual users.

What is 24 Speed Post Service?

The 24 Speed Post is a guaranteed next-day (D+1) delivery service for urgent consignments. Here, ‘D’ denotes the booking date, and delivery is assured on the following day. It is an enhanced version of the existing Speed Post service, designed specifically for priority and bulk customers requiring swift logistics solutions.

Coverage and Operational Scope

The service is currently operational across selected metro city pairs, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. It functions seven days a week, including Sundays, ensuring continuous service availability. The facility is limited to parcels weighing up to 5 kg, making it suitable for lightweight and urgent deliveries.

Key Features and Technology Integration

The service integrates modern technological features such as OTP-based delivery verification to ensure secure parcel handover. It also provides real-time tracking and status alerts, enhancing transparency. Business customers benefit from additional features like “Book Now, Pay Later” (BNPL), centralised billing, and API integration, enabling efficient logistics management.

Compensation and Customer Assurance

A major highlight of the service is its compensation policy. If delivery timelines are not met, customers are entitled to a full refund of postage charges. Claims can be filed online within seven days, reinforcing accountability and building customer trust in India Post’s services.
