India-Malta FOC Enhances the bilateral ties.
The fourth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) took place in Valletta, India and Malta, on 27 March 2026. The meeting assessed the general bilateral relations and examined new spheres of collaboration. It also became significant because the two nations just finished 60 years of diplomacy.

Sibi George and Christopher Cutajar were the co-chairs of the consultations. Ian Borg also made a meeting with Sibi George during the visit. Those interactions show growing diplomatic interaction and desire to build up relations.

Important focus on trade, investment, tourism and innovation was highly emphasized in the discussions. ICT, healthcare, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and education were also among the key areas that both nations found reason to cooperate in the future. The situation with India-EU Free Trade was also taken into account, and the focus was on economic prospects in the long run.
