India at the Centre of the Global AI Conversation

India is set to host the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from 16 to 20 February 2026 , marking the largest global summit on artificial intelligence ever organised. The event reflects rising international momentum around responsible, inclusive, and impact-driven AI , with a clear emphasis on translating shared global principles into real-world outcomes.

Scale, Reach, and Global Participation

The summit has already crossed 35,000 registrations , indicating unprecedented worldwide interest. Delegates are expected from over 100 countries , including representatives from governments, industry, academia, civil society, and international organisations.

Expected participation includes:

  • 15–20 Heads of Government

  • Over 50 Ministers

  • More than 40 CEOs from leading Indian and global companies

  • Around 500 prominent AI leaders and experts

This scale positions the summit as a landmark event in global technology diplomacy.

Focus on Impact and Deployment

Unlike earlier global AI dialogues that concentrated largely on risk management and ethical concerns , the India AI Impact Summit places strong emphasis on execution and measurable impact . The agenda highlights deployable AI solutions across critical sectors such as:

  • Governance and public service delivery

  • Industry and manufacturing

  • Healthcare and education

  • Climate action and sustainability

Organisers have positioned the summit as a platform to operationalise global AI principles , bridging the gap between vision and implementation.

Startups, Sessions, and Pre-Summit Momentum

A major attraction will be a startup showcase featuring over 500 AI startups from India and abroad, highlighting innovation across applied AI domains. Nearly 500 sessions are scheduled alongside the main programme, making it one of the most comprehensive AI convenings globally.

Momentum has also been built through pre-summit engagement:

  • Over 1,300 proposals received for pre-summit events

  • More than 500 pre-summit events already conducted across India and internationally

These activities have helped broaden participation and shape the summit’s outcome-oriented agenda.

India’s Expanding Role in Global AI Governance

The summit framework includes seven flagship events , which together have engaged over three lakh participants worldwide. The evolving global AI process has progressed through key milestones—risk assessment at Bletchley Park , ethics and inclusion discussions in Seoul , and operational frameworks in Paris .
