Overview of INS Taragiri

INS Taragiri is the fourth vessel of the Nilgiri-class stealth frigates under Project 17A, constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilding Ltd. It is a modern successor to the earlier INS Taragiri of the Leander class. The ship has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau, reflecting India’s progress in indigenous naval design and construction.

Advanced Design and Operational Capabilities

The frigate incorporates advanced stealth features to reduce radar signature and improve survivability. Propulsion and Indigenous Development

The ship uses a Combined Diesel or Gas (CODOG) propulsion system, integrating diesel engines and gas turbines for optimal speed and efficiency. It also includes an Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) for automated operations.
