Hari Babu Kambhampati Takes Oath as 27th Governor of Odisha

A New Governor for Odisha

On 3 January 2025, Odisha got a new Governor. His name is Hari Babu Kambhampati. He was sworn in at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, Chakradhari Sharan Singh, gave him the oath of office. He took over from Raghubar Das, who resigned earlier. The Swearing-In Ceremony

On 3 January 2025, Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh of the Orissa High Court administered the oath to Hari Babu Kambhampati. Several dignitaries, judges, and officials attended the event. Hari Babu Kambhampati is an experienced public figure. Before becoming the Governor of Odisha, he served as the Governor of Mizoram. He has also been active in politics and social work. He belongs to Andhra Pradesh. He is known for his calm and hardworking nature. His appointment as the 27th Governor of Odisha was announced by President Droupadi Murmu on 24 December 2024. He succeeded Raghubar Das, who resigned from the post. Kambhampati brings his administrative experience to his new role.

Visit to Shree Jagannath Temple

Before taking the oath, Hari Babu Kambhampati visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. This temple is one of the most holy places in Hinduism. It is part of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu. By visiting the temple, the new Governor showed his respect for the culture and faith of Odisha.
