Indian Army Conducts Amogh Jwala Drill at Babina Range

The Indian Army Southern Command recently conducted Exercise Amogh Jwala at the Babina Field Firing Ranges. The high-intensity exercise demonstrated India’s advancing mechanised warfare capabilities and its shift towards integrated, technology-driven military operations.

Focus on Multi-Domain Warfare

The exercise highlighted coordinated operations across multiple domains, including land, air, and emerging technological spheres. It involved attack helicopters, fighter aircraft, drones, and counter-drone systems. The concept of multi-domain warfare—integrating land, air, cyber, and space operations—was central, reflecting the evolving nature of modern conflicts.

Advanced Technologies and Integration

Exercise Amogh Jwala showcased the use of advanced technologies such as drone-enabled surveillance, real-time target acquisition, and precision strikes. Integration of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, Air Defence (AD) mechanisms, and night-fighting capabilities demonstrated a network-centric approach to combat operations, enhancing coordination and efficiency.

Enhancing Operational Readiness

The drill emphasised improved combat preparedness through joint operations and rapid decision-making. It underlined the role of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) in providing real-time battlefield awareness. Army Commander Lt Gen Dhiraj commended the participating troops for their professionalism and operational effectiveness.
