Election Commission Launches Phase III of Electoral Roll Revision Across India

3.42 lakh Booth Level Agents, called BLAs, will assist the process.

BLAs are appointed by recognised political parties for voter verification work.

Why the Schedule Was Aligned With Census Work

The schedule for Phase III was matched with Census house-listing operations.

Both exercises use local field-level administrative machinery.

This coordination helps reduce duplication of work and improves efficiency.
