The Government of Bihar has taken a landmark initiative which will see them introducing the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana, which is a welfare scheme designed to help women develop financial self-reliance through self-employment. Apposite initiation of the scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by transferring the 1st installment to a sum of 7,500 crores to 75 lac women marked the launch of a scheme that is destined to change the lives of many.

The Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) is one of the best public health achievements by India and saves millions of children and mothers every year. As the largest vaccination programme in the world, it is free vaccines against 12 preventable diseases which is preventing countless lives and improving the health status of the nation.

In 2025, unprecedented momentum of the Palestinian cause occurred when a series of countries, such as France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, officially recognised the State of Palestine. This is in line with the same acknowledgement of Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra and Monaco, as the world witnessed a major change in international relations. Although these actions have strengthened the international legitimacy of Palestine, they have also added to the conflict with Israel which is still going on.

Once more India is making a tremendous leap forward into the future of clean energy with a proposal to construct the Steady-state Superconducting Tokamak-Bharat (SST-Bharat), which is an improved variant of fusion-fission hybrid reactor. The project will be a milestone in the nuclear research in India and the scope of this project is to produce 130 MW power (fission and fusion 100 MW and 30 MW respectively) in its first phase, and in the future the power will be 5 times more than the input energy. In a longer perspective, India intends to start a full scale demonstration reactor by 2060, with a proposed output-to-input ratio of 20 and 250 MW of power output.

The year 2025 has been a wakeup call to what a precarious position the Himalayan ecosystem is in. In northern India, disasters have taken the lives of hundreds of people, caused destruction of infrastructure and disruption of communities, as devastating cloudbursts, water flash floods and land slides occurred. These incidences highlight that development and climate resilience in the area requires a renewed approach.
