C-DAC’s DHRUV64 Boosts India’s Semiconductor Self-Reliance
India has achieved a significant milestone in its journey towards semiconductor self-reliance with the development of DHRUV64, the country’s first indigenous 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core microprocessor. Designed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) under the Microprocessor Development Programme, the processor marks a decisive step in reducing dependence on imported chips for strategic and commercial technologies.
