CRPF Officer Dinesh Khatak Receives Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal

Dinesh Khatak , a senior officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from Jind district, Haryana , has been conferred the Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal in recognition of his exemplary service and leadership. Khatak joined the CRPF as a Gazetted Officer in 2005 after successfully clearing the UPSC examination . Operational Experience in Jammu and Kashmir

He has served multiple tenures in Jammu and Kashmir , notably between 2008–2013 and 2017–2021 . During these periods, he played key roles in maintaining security during the Amarnath Yatra , managing complex law-and-order situations, and supporting operations during critical phases such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the COVID-19 pandemic . His ability to operate effectively under pressure earned him widespread professional recognition.

Training and Leadership Contributions

Khatak is also known for his role as an instructor at CIAT Shivpuri , where he contributed to enhancing commando training standards. His focus on discipline, tactical readiness and modern field techniques strengthened the operational preparedness of specialised CRPF units.

Current Role in Naxal-Affected Areas

Presently posted in Bijapur district , he is engaged in security and development-linked initiatives in a Naxal-affected region. His responsibilities include establishing forward camps, supporting civic action programmes and participating in special operations, reinforcing both security and public trust.
