- The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is underway today across 121 constituencies in 18 districts , with 1,314 candidates in the fray.
- After casting his vote, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav said the people of Bihar should vote for change and a new beginning. Union Minister Lalan Singh described the polls as a “festival of democracy,” expressing confidence that the NDA government under Nitish Kumar’s leadership will return to power.
- Prominent leaders including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha are also contesting in this phase. The Election Commission has deployed extensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful voting.
- The second phase of polling is scheduled for November 11 , and the results will be announced on November 14 .
