Overview
At the Association of Indian Universities National Moot Court Competition 2026 in Integral University, Banaras Hindu University took the first place. The victory underscores the law research, advocacy and courtroom presentation prowess of BHU as India moves towards traditional law education with more practical orientation.
Competition Overview
It was a three-day event held between April 9 and 11, which saw over 40 teams representing universities all over the country. The competition was done in preliminary, quarter final, semi final and final. It offered a mock trial atmosphere in which members took cases to court where they would advocate their legal reasoning and advocacy proficiencies.
Best Workers and Prizes.
BHU became the general winner, and was awarded 25,000 in cash, trophies and medals. Chandigarh University was the runner-up and received 11000. There were also several category-based awards that were awarded based on research, memorial drafting and oral arguments.
Recognition Across Institutions
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University was the best researcher and Army Institute of Law was the best memorial. Best Speaker was Mallika Chadha of Lovely Professional University. Aligarh Muslim University as well as Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and University of Lucknow also received recognition on their performances.
