AvironiX Unveils AviSpray-10c: Compact Indian Drone for Precision Farming

AvironiX Launches AviSpray-10c, a Compact Drone Designed for India’s Farming Realities

Chennai-based deep-tech startup AvironiX Drones has launched the AviSpray-10c , a new backpack-sized agricultural spraying drone intended to dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of drone-based farm operations in India. The launch event, held in Chennai, brought together farmers, drone pilots, agritech experts and industry partners, highlighting growing demand for practical precision-farming tools.

Built Through Field-Driven Engineering

Unlike systems developed primarily in laboratory environments, the AviSpray-10c is the result of 6,000+ acres of field spraying experience across diverse Indian crops. Using the Japanese engineering philosophy ‘Genchi Genbutsu’ —designing by observing real-world conditions—engineers incorporated direct farmer and pilot feedback into every subsystem. This approach helped address challenges in crops such as sugarcane and paddy, where canopy density, terrain variation and humid weather complicate drone operations.

Compact Design, Lower Operating Costs

At 53% smaller than typical agricultural drones, the AviSpray-10c enables genuine two-wheeler portability and single-operator deployment, eliminating the need for pickup vehicles or heavy equipment. The drone can spray up to 5 acres per battery , reducing battery consumption, cutting fuel and transport expenses, and lowering capital investment for small and medium farmers.

Engineered for Indian Farm Conditions

The drone features a high-efficiency hexacopter architecture , swappable chemical tanks, multiple nozzle options and advanced safety modules including terrain-following radar and collision-avoidance. Built to withstand India’s heat, humidity, dust and wind , the platform promises high durability and long operational life. Designed in Ambattur and manufactured in Maramalainagar , it represents a fully India-made agri-drone solution.

Support Ecosystem and Future Innovations

AvironiX has launched an AgriDrone Experts network to ensure nationwide training, repair and field support. The firm also previewed a future spraying platform powered by MEMS-based plant-sensing technology , developed with an Australian partner, which aims to expand real-time precision farming capabilities.
