The publication is intended to help medical practitioners navigate complex regulatory requirements while reinforcing patient rights, ethical standards, and professional accountability.

Strengthening the Interface Between Clinical Practice and Law

During the launch event, the minister emphasised that healthcare delivery increasingly intersects with legal scrutiny due to higher patient awareness and expanding regulatory oversight. The guidebook has been designed as a practical reference for hospitals and clinicians, outlining key areas such as informed consent, documentation protocols, negligence standards, and statutory compliance. By clarifying these aspects, the initiative seeks to foster transparency and build trust between patients and providers.

Multidisciplinary Authorship and Expertise

The publication has been developed through collaboration between experienced professionals from both the medical and legal fields. Contributors include Dr. Deepak Singla, Medical Director at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital; Dr. Aarushi Singla, a paediatric endocrinologist at ESIC Medical College and Hospital; senior advocate Rakesh Malhotra; and advocate Kushal Malhotra. Their combined perspectives aim to translate legal principles into actionable guidance for everyday clinical settings.
