All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) Promotes Ayush Insurance Access and Research

• Purpose: To combine Ayush systems (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) and the current healthcare and insurance systems to improve the accessibility and credibility.
• Insurance Protection: Ayush treatments should be covered in every health insurance policy in the country according to the guidelines of the IRDAI 2024.
• Implementation: Ministry of Ayush established policy support expert committees and implementation units in support of structured policy support, empanelling of hospitals, and claims management.

Project Management Unit (PMU) AIIA:

• Primary alignment of the insurance companies, hospitals, and governmental organizations.
• Streamlines and simplifies the treatment verification, payment and knowledge of the patients.
• Also guarantees fair distribution of Ayush insurance benefits.
• Recent Change Ayurveda Day will be observed on 23 September every year since 2025, instead of observing Dhanvantari Jayanti.
