‘One India through Digital India’ Book Launched in New Delhi by Former CJI Gavai

One India through Digital India , a new scholarly work authored by Prof. Meka James Stephen , was officially released in New Delhi in the presence of distinguished policymakers and academic leaders. The book was unveiled by former Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai , reflecting the national significance of digital transformation as a tool of inclusion and structural reform.

A Study Connecting Technology, Governance & Social Equality

The publication explores how Digital India initiatives can strengthen democratic participation, reduce inequality, and promote Ambedkarite ideals of social justice . Prof. Stephen, who serves as Chair Professor at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair, Andhra University , highlighted that the book draws from years of interdisciplinary research in digital policy, inclusive technology frameworks, and constitutional philosophy. His work examines how e-governance, identity systems, digital banking, and online welfare delivery have reshaped citizen–government interaction.

Remarks by Former CJI (Retd.) B.R. Gavai

Speaking at the launch, Justice Gavai emphasised that Digital India must be seen not only as a technological reform but as a democratic tool to equalise opportunity, enhance public participation, and uplift historically marginalised groups . He stressed that when digital systems are implemented ethically, they have the power to dissolve administrative barriers and enable a truly integrated India.
