Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal inaugurated the 40th edition of the AAHAR International Food and Hospitality Fair in New Delhi, marking the commencement of a five-day exhibition running from 10 to 14 March 2026. The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) , serving as a premier platform for the food processing, hospitality, and agriculture sectors to showcase products, technologies, and trade opportunities.

During this effort, another oarfish was seen nearby, making the event particularly rare. Such encounters are uncommon because these deep-sea creatures typically inhabit ocean depths far from the surface.

Tourism to Gurudongmar Lake has begun recovering after more than two years of disruption caused by the South Lhonak Lake glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) in October 2023. The disaster had severely damaged roads and destroyed several bridges, cutting off access to large parts of North Sikkim. Connectivity has now improved following the reopening of the Chungthang–Lachen road and the inauguration of the 400-foot Taram Chu bridge, enabling authorities to resume issuing tourist permits for visitors travelling to the region.
