Extreme Nuclear Transients-The Branches of Branches of Cosmic Blasts

Recently astronomers have realized a new type of cosmic explosion known as Extreme Nuclear Transients (ENTs) which are even brighter than the so-called Gamma-ray burst (GRBs), the most in the universe. ENTs are the situations when the supermassive black holes in the galaxy centres dismantle massive stars with a minimum of three times the mass of the Sun. These events emitter energy more than ten folds than that emitted by ordinary GRBs thus making them the brightest since the Big Bang.

Surajpur Makes 75 Panchayats Child Marriage free

Next, Surajpur district in Chhattisgarh in a historic move has announced that one third of their village panchayats will be Child Marriage-Free Panchayats in the year 2025. It was declared as the milestone was made on the presentation of the program of Healthy Women, Empowered Families during the National Nutrition Month. This was in accordance to panchayats that had zero cases of child marriage during the past two years or more to earn such recognition, as a result of reduced registered community developments and government efforts on the need to deal with this ancient social menace.

Supreme Court Directs Registration of Sikh Anand Marriage

The Supreme Court of India has directed 17 states and eight Union Territories to frame rules for registering Sikh marriages under the Anand Marriage Act, 1909, within four months. Until the rules are notified, states must continue to register Sikh marriages under existing laws. This landmark direction seeks to give legal recognition to Sikh marriages performed through the Anand Karaj ceremony, ensuring Sikh couples can obtain official certificates affirming their marital status.

Supreme Court looks at governor mandates of Articles 200 and 201

A constitutional Presidential reference has recently been filed in May 2025 in the Supreme Court of India. The reference aims to gain a clear picture on the 14 questions which are about who can wield power on the Governors and the President through Articles 200 and 201 of the Constitution. This is after the historic decision of the Court in May 2025 in the case State of Tamil Nadu vs. Governor of Tamil Nadu that provided schedules in which Governors had to take action against the State Bills and the leaders of the Government to take action to end the delays, and delays were judicially checked.
