Garra nambashiensis New Freshwater Fish Discovered in Manipur

A new freshwater fish species, Garra nambashiensis, has been discovered in the Taretlok River, a tributary of the Chindwin River near Nambashi Valley in Kamjong district, Manipur. The discovery, led by Dr. Bungdon Shangningam of Dhanamanjuri University, highlights the biodiversity significance of Northeast India and its transboundary river ecosystems.

The First Bamboo Ethanol Plant in India is open in Assam

India is the first country to start its own bioethanol plant based on bamboo in Golaghat, Assam, which is a big step towards clean energy as well as rural development.
