Bhutan's 1020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project has been fully commissioned with the synchronization of its last 170 MW unit in August 2025. This would increase Bhutan's installed power capacity by almost 40%, which is a significant step in India-Bhutan clean energy cooperation and regional energy security.

India has sent more than 700 Armed Forces personnel to participate in Exercise Bright Star 2025, which is being hosted by Egypt from August 28 to September 10. India has got a go-ahead from the government for bidding for the 2030 Commonwealth Games with the proposed host city being Ahmedabad. The decision follows the Indian Olympic Association's approval and follows Canada's withdrawal from the process. The Commonwealth Sport General Assembly will determine the final host city in November 2025.
