Goa to Create Third District ‘Kushavati’ in Major Administrative Reorganisation

Goa is set to witness a significant administrative reorganisation with the creation of its third district, Kushavati. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, marking the first addition to Goa’s district structure since its formation as a state. At present, Goa has only North Goa and South Goa districts.

The new district derives its name from the ancient Kushavati river, reflecting the state’s emphasis on linking administrative reforms with historical and cultural identity.
