Conclusion

This reclassification of Phoenix genus in South Asia is a great example of how botanical science modifies with new evidences. In delimiting species, and in adding P. roxburghii, they have enlightened palm taxonomy and shed light on the experiences of early naturalists. Overall, the present study advocates the need for ongoing exploration and conservation of India’s diverse flora, so that the next generation can have an opportunity to enjoy and study these amazing plants.
