On  8 May 2026 , the Government of Karnataka appointed  Justice Ramachandra Dattatray Huddar , a retired judge of the Karnataka High Court, as the new  Chairperson of the Admission Overseeing Committee (AOC) . The AOC oversees admissions to professional courses like engineering, medical, and dental programmes in the state. The post had been vacant since October 2024 after Justice B. Manohar’s term ended.

Who Is Justice Ramachandra Huddar?

Justice Ramachandra Dattatray Huddar is a retired judge of the  Karnataka High Court . He was born on  13 August 1963  in  Gokak , Belgaum district, Karnataka. He has a long and respected career in the judiciary. On  8 May 2026 , he was appointed as the  Chairperson of the Admission Overseeing Committee (AOC)  for professional courses in Karnataka.

Why Is This in the News?

The post of AOC Chairperson had been  vacant since October 2024 . It became empty after Justice B. Manohar completed his term.
