Global Leaders Gather for AI Governance Talks at India AI Impact Summit 2026
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 commenced today at Bharat Mandapam , New Delhi, positioning India at the centre of global discussions on artificial intelligence governance and collaboration. The five-day summit will be inaugurated by Narendra Modi and aims to articulate a “shared roadmap for global AI governance and collaboration” amid rapid technological transformation.
Global Platform on AI and Society
The summit brings together world leaders, policymakers, technology companies, startups, academia, research institutions, Union Ministries, State Governments, and international organisations. Key discussions will focus on pressing concerns such as job displacement due to automation, ethical AI deployment, child safety in digital spaces, and inclusive access to emerging technologies.
An expansive AI Expo runs alongside the summit, showcasing innovations across sectors including healthcare, governance, climate action, education, and fintech. The expo is designed to foster collaboration between public institutions, private enterprises, and research bodies.
International Participation and Country Pavilions
A major highlight is the presence of 13 country pavilions, reflecting deep international engagement in the AI ecosystem. Participating countries include Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and an Africa pavilion representing continental collaboration.
Organisers estimate over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates, entrepreneurs, students, and researchers, will attend the summit over five days.
YUVAi: Youth-Centric AI Initiative
One of the flagship initiatives launched at the summit is YUVAi , a youth-focused AI challenge. The programme aims to cultivate responsible AI innovators by developing technical skills, ethical awareness, and problem-solving capabilities among young participants.
