Banking & Finance

• Still, RBI has been announcing seven changes of regulation (Sep 29) to strengthen policy transmission, make it easier to lend gold, and taken the norms of exposures.
• SIDBI registered a net profit record of 4,811 crore in FY25 and is up by 19.5 percent compared to the previous year.
• Bank of Baroda has signed a co-lending agreement with IIFL Finance.
• RBI constituted a Payments Regulatory Board (PRB) with 6 members, to replace the previous BPSS.
• Axis Bank became the first bank to introduce a gold-backed UPI credit line through Freecharge to MSMEs and merchants.
• The SBI has market share in debit cards of 24% (August 2025).

• Tata AIG halted cashless services in Max Hospitals joining three other insurance companies.
• Tata-Airbus will establish the first H125 HAR helicopter Final Assembly Line (FAL) in India located in Karnataka.

• Maj Gen G. Srinivas assumed the position of Commandant, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
• Rajesh Agrawal, IAS, is the new Secretary, Department of Commerce.
• Amita Chaudhury was also the first woman of Indian origin to serve as the chairperson of the Global Sustainable Insurance Board of UNEP FI.

Defence & Space

• Joint amphibious exercise Jal Prahar 2025 was completed by Indian Navy and Army.
• INS Sutlej arrived at Mauritius to take part in the 18th Joint Hydrographic Survey.
• India’s first multi-wavelength space observatory, AstroSat, took 10 years to orbit.

• SBI Foundation has introduced Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship with 90 crore expenditure in FY26.
• In all electric cars sold after October 2027, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) is mandatory.

• Andhra Pradesh Tourism was a winner of the Global Tourism Award 2025.
• Best 5-Star Deluxe Hotel in state tourism awards was presented to Novotel Vijayawada Varun.
• President Murmu gave Diamond Jubilee Silver Trumpet to President Bodyguard.
• TANSA 2022 Environmental Science was presented by Dr. R. Arthur James.

Agreements & Policies

• India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) will take effect on February 1, 2025 India has its first FTA with a European block.
