Rare Keelback Snakes Documented in Northeast India

Researchers from the Wildlife Institute of India have recorded two uncommon keelback snake species in Northeast India. The Rakhine Keelback (Herpetoreas davidi) was observed in Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary, while the Kachin Hills Keelback (Hebius gilhodesi) was identified in Namdapha National Park and Kamlang Tiger Reserve. These findings underline the exceptional biodiversity of the northeastern region.
