New UGC Rules of registration of foreign students

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has declared that there are new guidelines according to which all foreign students pursuing studies in Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will have to register on the Study in India (SII) portal beginning with the academic year 2025-26. This project will also consolidate data of the foreign students and tie the visas to study to the portal. The relocation is to increase the level of transparency, safety of the students, and adherence to the visa norms.

The Jal Prahar 2025 Joint Amphibious Exercise held by Indian Navy

Indian Army together with the Indian Navy successfully managed to end the joint amphibious exercise known as Jal Prahar 2025 in the eastern coast of India. The biannual drill, which was conducted during 16-23 September 2025, was meant to enhance the inter-service coordination and operational readiness in amphibious warfare. The work, in two stages, revealed the increasing interdependence of the naval and terrestrial armies in the management of intricate maritime problems.

NASA-ISRO NISAR Satellite Transmits First images of Earth

The NASA-ISRO mission known as the Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) has reached a significant milestone upon releasing the first pictures of the earth. These initial observations will be a milestone towards full-scale science activities later in the year 2025 when the satellite will be ready. It is anticipated that the data would greatly enhance disaster preparedness, agricultural surveillance, and infrastructure management throughout the world.

Sustainable Livestock Transformation Initiatives in India

First Maritime Simulation Centre in India opened in Chennai

In 2025, India set a new standard in the field of maritime education by opening the first Maritime Simulation Centre. The centre was founded in AMET Knowledge Park, as part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a result of the partnership between the Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) and worldwide shipping giant A.P. Moller - Maersk. This state of the art center will revolutionize how Indian cadets are prepared and provided with skills to work at sea.
