The 5 th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS), will be held at Chennai in India in 2027 to mark the 50 th anniversary of Indian Coast Guard. This was adopted unanimously at the 4th CGGS in Rome (2025) which was attended by 115 countries and international organisations. The summit will also serve as a significant venue to improve maritime cooperation, security, and the environment.

The Supreme Court of India took a landmark decision on July 17, 2025, and confirmed the property rights of tribal women.
