Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan Empowering Women and Families with Health

On 17 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the largest-ever health outreach program the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA), exclusively targeting women and children in India. This campaign (through to 2 October 2025) will involve more than 10 lakh health camps in the country, which will deal with preventive health, early diagnosis, and awareness.

Aquamonitrix Handheld Field Environmental Ion Chromatography

An innovation in the field of analytical chemistry has taken the ion chromatography, which was a preserve of advanced laboratories, to the arena. Scientists at the University of Tasmania have come up with a nitrate and nitrite detecting ion chromatograph, called Aquamonitrix, which is a portable device that could help detect nitrate and nitrite in the soil pore waters in real-time. Such innovation makes environmental monitoring cheaper, accessible and practical and is also a useful educational instrument.
