UNESCO-Recognised International Day of Mathematics Highlights Role of Maths in Society
The International Day of Mathematics is celebrated each year on 14 March to recognise the importance of mathematics in science, technology and everyday life. The observance has been celebrated globally since 2020 after being proclaimed by UNESCO during its 40th General Conference in 2019. Educational institutions, research organisations and community groups organise activities such as competitions, workshops and exhibitions to promote interest in mathematics and highlight its applications in modern society.
