The Battle of Rezang La, fought on 18 November 1962, stands as one of history’s most extraordinary last stands. At an altitude of 18,000 feet, 120 soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment’s Charlie Company—117 of whom were Ahirs—held their ground against waves of Chinese infantry despite freezing temperatures, limited ammunition and no air or artillery support. Their defence is estimated to have caused over 1,300 Chinese casualties, a feat unrivalled in modern warfare. Yet, over six decades, the Ahir identity central to this heroism has been repeatedly marginalised in official narratives and popular culture.

Indian Navy Receives Taragiri, Fourth Nilgiri-Class Frigate Under Project 17A

The Indian Navy has formally received Taragiri (Yard 12653), the fourth frigate of the advanced Nilgiri-class under Project 17A, marking a major milestone in India’s indigenous warship-building programme. Delivered on 28 November 2025, Taragiri is the third ship of the class constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL). The vessel also revives the heritage of the original INS Taragiri, a Leander-class frigate celebrated for three decades of distinguished service.

Government Launches TEAM Initiative to Boost MSME E-Commerce Participation

The Government of India has launched the Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Initiative, a new sub-scheme under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) programme, aimed at expanding the digital footprint of micro and small enterprises. With a budget outlay of ₹277.35 crore for 2024–2027, the Central Sector Scheme is designed to strengthen MSMEs’ access to online marketplaces by providing digital infrastructure, onboarding support and targeted capacity-building.
